Phyllis Bennis: Afghanistan and the Aftermath of the US Withdrawal
Phyllis Bennis is a Fellow of the Institute for Policy Studies in Washington, and of the Amsterdam-based Transnational Institute.
She writes and speaks widely across the U.S. and throughout the world on Afghanistan and other US wars, foreign policy, and a range of Middle East issues including Afghanistan, Palestine-Israel, Iran, Syria -- in the media, lecturing at universities and teach-ins, briefing parliamentarians and government officials.
Phyllis was a co-founder of the Iraq-era anti-war coalition United for Peace and Justice, and continues to work with many anti-war and Palestinian rights organizations in the United States and around the world.

She serves on the national board of Jewish Voice for Peace and the board of the Afro-Middle East Center in Johannesburg.

Her books include Ending the US War in Afghanistan, and Before & After: US Foreign Policy and the War on Terror. She has briefed and advised several members of Congress on the war in Afghanistan and related issues.
